People born on New Year’s Eve have a destiny like no other. Why?

When we walk into a room full of people, we are among a diverse crowd when it comes to the 52 life themes as they are laid out in the Birth Card Chart. Every one of us has a Birth Card according to our birthdate that informs us of our life path. Those born on December 31st, however, are unique. These souls who choose to incarnate on New Year’s Eve don’t share their destiny or life theme with anyone else, unless they’ve chosen that same birthdate. They are the Jokers and they’ve come to bring us their magic.

Everything is energy and energy must always be in motion. We know this. We know that we can’t control the weather, but we also know that we can’t ignore it. We must learn to recognize its patterns so that we make wise choices.

When we’re talking about other aspects of energy, how can we recognize the patterns? Astrology is a fantastic way of doing that. I’m not talking about the little paragraphs we read about our sun signs that give us some vague warnings or promises we forget about as soon as we’re distracted. If you’ve ever had your whole-house astrological chart done, it’s fascinating to follow your rising sign. Try it for a few months and see.

Another way to watch the patterns is through the Card Charts.

Our common card decks that we’ve all played games with is actually an ancient astrological tracking system. The Birth Card Chart above shows the birth card for each day of the year. This card is the theme for that lifetime.

When I access the Akashic Records for clients and gather information for their Soul Profile, it’s information for their eternal self. That information tells me which Emanation of Creator they are and under which influences they originated. I can look and see in which periods of Earth history they’ve experienced intense growth. I can discover which blocks and restrictions they’re struggling with in this lifetime and why.

Then I also have to gather information for this particular lifetime. What are their east and west astrological signs? That information tells me what personality attributes they’ve chosen to give themselves the tools they need to navigate the relationships, situations, and events they’ll encounter in this lifetime in order to progress.

The last thing I look at is the Birth Card Chart. The birth card is the theme for this lifetime. Our souls are who we truly are. Our east and west astrological signs are the costume we put on for the character we’re going to play. Our birth card is the theme to remind us of what we came to overcome. For those born as the Ace of Hearts, for example, desire, ambition, new beginnings, and loneliness in emotions and expressions are what they will constantly have to deal with in this lifetime. For someone born as a Six of Diamonds, stability, destiny, balance, and monotony in the areas of money and values will be their struggle.

The souls who choose to be born on December 31st, however, have no destiny. They share their birth card only with other souls who choose to be born on New Year’s Eve. They are the Jokers. They are the wild cards and they can be whatever they want.

In the common playing card decks, the Joker can be red or black, which can be interpreted as light-aligned or dark-aligned. They still have their costume to wear as Capricorns, so they’ll be charming, creative, and hardworking when they want to be. They’ll still have whatever attributes their eastern astrological sign provides, but they won’t be locked into overcoming any specific contrast of a life theme.

The Joker has no life path before him or her. They can become whatever they choose and the rest of us hope they choose to be light-aligned. These people can become the ultimate tricksters if they choose to walk the dark path. The Jokers can be the energetic cheerleader if they believe in someone. Because they have no destiny of their own, they can literally borrow another person’s destiny and push them over the line to accomplish their goal or pull that person out of the fire they’ve lit for themselves. This is the magic and the gift the Jokers bring the rest of us.

Just like the Jesters who could enter the royal courts and mock both the commoners and the nobility, the Joker makes fun of us all and in doing so, reveals our hidden truths. The Joker’s Day, December 31st, is the day of creation and because there is no karma attached to the Joker, many mages and spellcrafters choose this day to empower their workings.

This card is the same as the Fool card in a Tarot deck, which is God dressed up as the lowest man. The Fool carries all the other cards in his sack. The Fool card has a numerical equivalent of zero because he is the beginning of all creation. Just as God is an unfolding mystery to be solved or ignored by each of us, the Joker is a mystery unto himself or herself. In their negative aspect, they can waste their gifts in an endless cycle of self-discovery, not realizing there is nothing to discover because they are the blank slate.

Many Jokers are drawn to acting or some form of influencing via media or entertainment. Acting can bring out the negative aspects for Jokers, especially if pursued in childhood, and if they are not supported by real love can get lost in their roles, as well as the role of their own persona.

The Joker is also considered part of the royal court and the Jack of all Jacks. They are youthful and independent even in their old age and when they are in their positive aspect, they love to laugh and to make others laugh. Being part of the royal court, they bristle at being ordered around, but understand the need for order. Even though they often wear a mask, they enjoy unmasking others. When they love you, they will do it gently and laugh with you at how fake you were being. When they find you objectionable, they will rip the mask off and expose you.

Only a few of us really want to have enemies, but the Joker is one whom you especially don’t want as an enemy. Even if they consider you harmful to themselves or others, the Joker’s baseline philosophy would be live and let live as they set up their protections, avoid you, or unmask you if they haven’t already. If you have somehow become their actual enemy, then God help you. The Joker pursuing an enemy is relentless and we should all be grateful this is an extremely rare situation.

The gift the Joker brings us is to remind us all that we are not our masks. We are not just the costumes we wear or the parts we play. We’re not just our professions. We’re not just our passions. We are endless and eternal. When the Joker pursues a path of spiritual inquiry, they benefit us all. Being God dressed as a common person, they bring the mysteries of the eternal into the mundane everyday world.

If you know a Joker, you are blessed because knowing this person will force you to know yourself, one way or another. If you have one of these people in your life, hopefully they are in their positive aspect. It’s uncommon to have more than one Joker among the people in your life. Depending on what Emanation of Creator they are, the Joker will bring love and growth, or destruction.

Some famous Jokers are Anthony Hopkins, Ben Kingsley, Tim Matheson, Bebe Neuwirth, Simon Wiesenthal, Andy Summers, John Denver, Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Summer, Paul Westerberg, Michael McDonald, Psy
